Before the partition of the subcontinent, late Abdul Bari, the father of late Abdul Khaliq, was residing in India who was a renowned jeweler. Later on during his lifetime he lost his eyesight but was well known for his ability of identifying a diamond.
Later, late Abdul Khaliq migrated to Pakistan and started his jewelry journey in Pakistan. Even though Abdul Khaliq Jewelers was established in 1974, Abdul Khaliq was involved in the jewelry business since 1960s in Pakistan.
